As he did not want bread made with local flour; he sent his three-oar boat went along the coast of Positano to bring him the flour of a mill still standing on the side of a hill. This miss is still in use today, only it has been modernized to grind flour for the people of Positano.

Positano was the first Italian town to introduce the bikini in 1959. This increased the popularity of the beaches and a huge development in the fashion industry. A large range of coloured sea clothes was made from big square scarves and subsequently, dresses for afternoon and evening wear besides original wedding dresses joined the bikini collection.
