This
museum is home to one of Europe’s most valuable archeological
collections. The Roman and Greek sculptures and the artifacts from
the Pompeii and Herculaneum excavations are definitely a must see.
Some of the outstanding exhibits are the nude statues of Armodio
and Aristogitone, Orpheus and Eurydice with Mercury, the Farnese
Hercules and the Psyche of Capua. Mosaics excavted from Pompeii
and Herculaneum include scenes of cockfights, an aquarium and the
most exquisite one in which Alexander is seen fighting the Persians.
